Heading to the Cath Lab

After Jensen came off bypass and the surgery was finished, his oxygen sats were too low (in the 60s for you heart mamas). They aren't sure why yet, so they are taking him straight to the cath lab. He's still with the same team he has been with all day and they are taking great care of him. Lucky for us, we chose CHOP. To get him to the cath lab, his team simply rolls him next door. That saves a lot of time under anesthesia and can give his doctors results much faster. Please continue to pray for Jensen, his doctors, and for Jeremy. Jeremy is sick, so pray he doesn't get any worse so he can spend time with Jensen when he gets out of surgery.

  1. Zoe had a similar experience when Spray took her off bypass - her sats were in the low 70s. The artery above the BT shunt kinked and he had to place a patch. Before discharge, they did a cath because her sats began to lower and she required stent placement. You're completely right about being at CHOP - this is one of the top reasons to be at the top volume centers where the best cardiac teams are in place - for complications that arise, because they do and they will. Big hugs to you. Please let me know if you have questions or want to talk about anything. xoxo.

  2. Glad to hear jensen came through his surgery. Because of the possibility of problems occurring Melanie stayed with Ollivia at the RMD House in Camden for 2 and a half months. She also required a stent put into the top part of the shunt because of a blood clot. Her sats were up and down. Because of other Heart mom's experiences they knew it was best to stay and be seen twice a week by the doctor's at CHOP. Where are you staying if you are not at the hospital? Good luck and know you hqave lots of prayer warriors praying for you little guy. Hang tough and I hope that Jeremy gets well quick so he an hold his little boy soon.
